The Labyrinth Contest is now CLOSED! I've added all the entries, if you don't see yours posted, please let me know. I'm going to take a couple of days to look them over thoroughly and deliberate before announcing a winner. Thank you to all those who entered! I see some very creative ideas, very much in the spirit of the film. Thanks again!
Labyrinth Guide Contest - Design a Labyrinth Creature or Character! The goal is to create a creature or character that fits into the world of the Labyrinth. It should be as consistent as possible with the style and feel of the movie. And NO HUMANS!!!
Your Entry will Include:
A Visual Representation of the Creature (this can be a simple sketch, or a fully developed character illustration). I won't be judging based on the quality of your illustration, but rather the creativity and "feel" of the creature (does it feel like it fits with the movie?).

A Description of the Creature (this should be written in the Artist's Comments part of your deviation. It should include the following information:

The Creature/Character's Name

The Location in the Labyrinth where the Creature/Character Lives

A Description of the Creature/Character's Appearance

A Description of the Creature/Character's Personality

A List of Key Qualities Possessed by the Creature/Character
Rules:
You cannot enter a character that is already featured in the movie Labyrinth (your entry must be original).

Entries must include both a visual and written component.

Characters/creatures do not have to be new for the contest. You can use characters/creatures that you've created in the past (including those that you have used in your own fanfiction, comics, etc). Please do not use other people's characters.

Multiple entries from the same person are allowed, and encouraged if you have some good ideas!

NO HUMAN CHARACTERS!!!
The Judging:
You will not be judged on the aesthetic quality of your visual component (although I will appreciate the time and effort you put into it). What I'm looking for is creativity and originality.

You're written component won't be judged based on the quality of your writing. What I'm looking for is an interesting character, not an English essay (although I will appreciate entries that take the time to consider spelling and grammar).

Your entry will be judged on how well it fits into the world of the Labyrinth.
The Prize:The winning entry(s) will become a page in my Labyrinth Guide! I will create a page for your creature/character (I'll re-draw the character in my style to match the rest of the guide) and send the winner an unwatermarked, high-resolution copy of their page! The winner will also get a feature in the Artist's Comments for their page, and in my journal (and you will receive full credit for your design).
It is possible that there will be more than one winner, depending on how many inspiring characters are submitted.
If people are interested in donating features, or other prizes, please let me know!HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY
Upload your image as a deviation, and add your written component to the Artist's Comments for that deviation.

Comment on this journal with a link to your entry OR send me a note with a link to your entry.

I will add a thumbnail of your entry to this journal. When you see that thumbnail, you are officially entered!
The Deadline:All entries must be submitted by Midnight (EST) on April 28, and the winner(s) will be announced soon after.
I reserve the right to cancel the contest if there are not enough entries (I'm hoping for more than 15 entries). I may also extend the deadline if needed.
